Brief introduction of research:
I have obtained my PhD in Computer Science from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca in 2010. Currently, I am associate professor at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. My research interests include Parallel and Distributed systems, Big Data Techniques, Computational Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Mining, Web Service Composition. I have published around of 69 research papers in the fields of „Service Oriented Distributed Computing” (I have contributed to the development of methods applicable in the automatic Web service discovery, automatic Web Service composition, Web Service clustering based on semantic similarity), „Biologically-inspired Computing” (I have contributed to the development of new meta-heuristics and to the hybridization of state of the art meta-heuristics in order to improve their performance), and „Business process discovery and optimization”.  My research activity is also reflected by the large number of projects in which I am/was involved, projects that were developed in collaboration with prestigious institutions/universities from Romania and from abroad such as: Politecnico di Milano, University of Stuttgart, IBM  Haifa,  Engineering, Christmann Informationstechnik, Engineering Ingegneria Informatica, ASM Terni, Green IT Amsterdam, Stichting Academisch Rekencentrum Amsterdam, Zurich University of Applied Sciences, Kings College London, ISOIN Es, Tunstall Healthcare Ltd., COESCO, Babes-Bolyai University, Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Cluj-Napoca. The recognition of my professional merits by scientific community also derives from the large number of citations in journals indexed ISI or in other international databases and in the proceedings of international conferences.
