Dr. Tianshou Ma

Brief introduction of research:
Dr. Tianshou Ma iscurrently a Lecturer in School of Oil and Natural Gas Engineering at SouthwestPetroleum University (SWPU), and a fixed researcher in the State Key Laboratoryof Oil & Gas Reservoir Geology and Exploitation. Dr. Ma is also an SPE (Societyof Petroleum Engineers) member and CSRME (Chinese Society for Rock Mechanicsand Engineering) member, visiting scholar in Department of Civil Engineering atMonash University (QS 67), and post doctor at Institute of Rock and SoilMechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Dr. Ma earned a BSc in PetroleumEngineering from the SWPU, an MSc in Oil & Gas Well Engineering from theSWPU, and a PhD degree in Oil & Gas Well Engineering from the SWPU. Dr. Mahas published more than 30 journal articles in various international journals,such as Journal of Petroleum Science andEngineering, Journal of Natural GasScience and Engineering, ChineseJournal Geophysics, Chemistry andTechnology of Fuels and Oils,International Journal of Oil, Gas and Coal Technology, Petroleum Exploration and Development, Chinese Journal of Rock Mechanics and Engineering, Acta Petrolei Sinica, Journal of Central South University, Natural Gas Industry, and etc. Dr. Ma isalso the author or co-author of 10 conference papers in various internationalconferences, and he has applied for 9 patents. Dr. Ma received the candidatureproposal of Eni Award 2015 and Eni Award 2016 – the New Frontiers of Hydrocarbons (Upstream Prize) – for work onthe wellbore stability of shale gas formations. Dr. Ma currently serves as the editorialboard member for 3 international journals (InternationalJournal of Geophysics and Geochemistry, AmericanJournal of Energy and Power Engineering, Engineering and Technology), and reviewer for 5 international journals(Journal of Natural Gas Science andEngineering, Tunnelling andUnderground Space Technology, TheOpen Petroleum Engineering Journal, InternationalJournal of Earth Sciences & Engineering, Petroleum). Dr. Ma was awarded as “Recognized reviewer” and “Outstandingreviewer” by the Journal of Natural GasScience and Engineering.
