Brief introduction of research:

My future research interests are the electric and magnetic fields (EMF) measurement on transmission and distribution lines, adverse effects of environmental pollution on transmission line components, power system reliability study under adverse condition, renewable energy and grounding resistance measurements. In addition, Transient Stability Analysis using detailed modelling of Governor, Exciter and Load is also another research area of my interest. My most recent project involves the “Study and Design on Induced Voltage on the Pipeline at the Power Transmission Corridor” for Petrokon Utama Sdn Bhd., Brunei Darussalam.

During my past research career, I have completed a project on “Performance Study of Transmission Line Insulator under Adverse Condition” along with Prof. Hussein bin Ahmad, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Dept. of Electrical Power Engineering, University Technology Malaysia. In addition, I have also completed one project on “A Study to Eliminate 33kV and 132 kV Wooden Pole Fires” which was funded by Petroleum Development, Oman when I was a faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.

I have completed a project on grounding philosophy, transmission lines and substations for Department of Electrical Services (DES) and Berakas Power Management Company (BPMC) in Brunei Darussalam using Fluke 1625 equipment and CYME GRD software. Recently, I have investigated the availability of wind potential throughout the coastal belt of Brunei Darussalam and published in a journal. A research on installing suitable wind turbine to the motor bike for fuel efficiency has been recently completed through a project awarded by the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB).
