Research experience:

Muhamad Fazil Ahmad was born on 3rd August 1979 in Temerloh, Pahang. He did his Matriculation at IIUM Matriculation Centre in Lembah Pantai in 1998/99 session and IIUM Matriculation Centre in Petaling Jaya in 1999/2000 session, before joining the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM Gombak) Kuala Lumpur where he obtained his Bachelor in Comparative Religion and Communication with Honours in 2004 and in 2006 he obtained his Master in Communication (M. A. HSc.) – Specialization in Organizational Communication from the same University.

 

Upon graduating from IIUM, he was employed as a Lecturer at IIUM Higher Education Sdn. Bhd. (Sept 2006 - June 2010) under subsidiary of International Islamic University Malaysia until 2010.  During the tenure in IIUM Higher Education, he had been appointed as Deputy Dean, Centre for Languages (2007 - 2008), Manager Graduate Affairs Department (June 2008 - Sept 2008), Manager, Student Activities and Alumni Department (June 2008 - June 2010), Programme coordinator - Communication Courses - Yayasan Universitas Islam Jakarta, Indonesia (2007 - 2008) and Head Trainer for Leadership and Management Subject, IIUM (January 2004 - May 2012).  In 2010 he joined Technology Park College (TPMC) at Bukit Jalil Kuala Lumpur as a Corporate Communication Lecturer from August 2010 until December 2012.

 

For social involvement, he was involved in a motivation talk to Jemaah Haji Malaysia at Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur Jalan Duta and Masjid Al-Hasanah Bandar Baru Bangi.  He also actives in Islamic Da’wah with Islamic genre Nasyeed group ‘AllOne’, in 2009 his group of nasyeed was nominated in Anugerah Industri Muzik (AIM ke-16) as the Best Group/Duo Song in an Album (The group has produced 3 albums since the year of 2000; ‘Riwayat Agung’ in 2007, ‘Arah’ in 2008 and ‘Album Kompilasi All One and Ustaz Amal’ in 2010).  In July 2012, he hosted a Singaporean TV show entitle “Chef Halal”, the nature of the programme is to define which Halalan Tayiban and Haram food in Islam.  While for the student enhancement program; he has appointed as the advisor of the IIC Debate Club (IICDC), IIC Alumni Association (IICAA) and the Director of the 4th and 5th IIC Convocation Ceremony at Culture Activity Centre IIUM (2008 - 2010).  All of these involvements had trained him in decision-making in various capacities and to contribute the jihad fi sabilillah.  To develop his research contribution to the Ummah, in 2009 he continued his PhD studies in Communication, specializing in Human Communication (Branding) at UPM.  He is now as the Director of Arts and Heritage at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, (UniSZA) Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu MALAYSIA.
