Prof. Liangliang WEI, school of  Environment, Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), China

Research Area:

Wastewater Recycling, Sludge Anaerobic Digestion

Research Experience:

Prof. Wei received his B. Eng. degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, MSc and PhD degree from Harbin Institute of Technology. He joined Harbin Institute of Technology in March 2014, and currently as an associate professor in the Department of Environment, HIT.  He also studied in University of Wisconsin-Madison as a visiting scholar during the period of 2014-2015.

Liangliang WEI's research interests lie in the field of wastewater recycling, sludge anaerobic digestion, where his area of expertise is in the mechanisms and control of DBPs production caused by natural organic matter (NOM) during secondary effluent reusing, biodegradation and transformation of extracellular polymeric substances in sludge during anaerobic digestion. Moreover, he is now engaged in the study of the inhibition mechanisms of typical nono-particles on sludge anaerobic digestion.

In the past 5 years, Prof. Wei published over 50 academic papers (H index 16), applied 5 national invention patents, hosted 5 national scientific research project, and more than 10 provincial scientific research project. Dr. Wei is a reviewer for some well-known journals such as Environ. Sci. & Technol., Water Res., Bioresource Technology, Science and Total Environment, Journal of Hazardous Materials, Chemosphere, and so on. Based on the above, he acquired the awards of Outstanding Individual of Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development (MOHURD) of P. R. China in 2013, Scholarship Award for Excellent Doctoral Student granted by Ministry of Education of P.R. China, 2010.
