Research Experience:
I have been working in Beijing Municipal Institute of City Management since I graduated from Hebei university of technology as a postgraduate in May, 2006. In last 13 years, as the project director I have completed more than 300 public toilets design. I participated in the compilation of “Standard for design of urban public toilets” (CJJ14-2016), "Guidance on strengthening the construction and management of urban public toilets", and "General technical conditions for plastic dustbins" (CJ/T280-2008). I have published ten articles on the design and research of public toilets, and I have won the first prize in the first National Tourism Toilet Design Competition.
As a main member of compilation groups of “Standard for design of urban public toilet” (CJJ14-2016), I surveyed the nationwide public toilets since 2012, accumulated a lot of experience and data, and published "Urban public toilets analyses on queuing phenomenon", "Talk on independent public toilet design", and so on. In 2016, this standard (CJJ14-2016) was awarded as the annual excellent standard by the Ministry of housing and urban-rural development. Now I am compiling a guide to the design of urban public toilets.
In 2015, I won the first prize in the first national tourism toilet design competition. The design of public toilets on Tian'anmen square has made some innovations in the layout, humanized design and green ecology of public toilets, etc. In the same year, I published an article (Exploration on functions of urban public toilet design).
In 2016, I was in charge of the project "Study on public toilets in Beijing West Railway Station" and renovated nine public toilets in the west railway station area, which were completed in August 2017. Through the renovation, 50 toilet seats were added, and the queuing time was reduced from 154 seconds to 54 seconds during rush hours. The third bathrooms, maternal and child rooms, luggage toilet seats, multi-function desks and other humanized spaces are added, passengers’ satisfaction have been greatly improved, complaints are basically eliminated. Ventilation system of public toilets, innovation of urinals, and new air treatment system were added. The deodorization effect of public toilets are obvious, and the toilet environment of public toilets was greatly improved. The intelligent visual data statistics system is first applied in public toilets of the west station. This system is suitable for the crowd density, the long-time queuing toilets.
