Research Area: Structural Mechanics; Peridynamics; Structural Health Monitoring; Computational Modeling
Research Experience:
Dr. Erkan Oterkus’s research mainly focuses on computational mechanics of materials and structures by using some of the state-of-the-art techniques including peridynamics and inverse finite element method. Some of his recent research is on corrosion damage modeling, ice-structure interactions, failure analysis of lithium-ion batteries, and monitoring of ship structures and offshore wind turbines.
