Shenzhen, hereinafter referred to as "deep", nickname "PengCheng", is one of China's four big cities, municipalities, cities under separate state planning, deputy provincial city, guangdong province, national, regional central cities, large cities, the positioning of the state council of the national economic center city and international city, national innovative city, international high-tech innovation center, global ocean center city, an international integrated transport hub, one of the three largest national financial center in China.

Shenzhen is located in the south of guangdong, on the eastern shore of the pearl river estuary, separated from Hong Kong by the same water, east of daya bay and dapeng bay, west of pearl river estuary and lingdingyang, south of shenzhen river and Hong Kong, and north of dongguan and huizhou. Under the jurisdiction of 9 administrative regions and 1 new district, the total area of 1997.27 square kilometers. By the end of 2017, the permanent population of shenzhen was 12.5283 million (2017), of which the registered population was 4.3472 million (2017), with the actual managed population exceeding 20 million and the urbanization rate being 100%.

Shenzhen is the first special economic zone established in China, a window of China's reform and opening-up and a newly emerging immigrant city. It has developed into a modern international metropolis with certain influence. It has created the world-renowned "shenzhen speed" and enjoys the reputation of "the city of design" and "the city of fashion".
