Research Experience:
Dr. Reduan Bin Mat Dan graduated in Petroleum engineering in 1994 from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, USA. In 2004, he decided to further study on the area of Msc. in Maintenance Engineering and Asset Management at The University of Manchester, UK where he graduated with distinction in 2005. He joined Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) in 2006 as a lecturer and continued his stay in UK to read for his Ph.D. He received his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering specifically in wear debris analysis. His current research interest continues to be dominated by wear debris analysis with a special focus in predicting the life of gear. He is currently co-supervising 2 MSc. students researching an area of energy, vibration and wear debris analysis. He is now a senior lecturer, the head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, an editorial board member for Journal of Mechanical Engineering and Technology, and a MIBoC certified vibration analyst CAT II. Recently he upgraded his competency to be a certified as Machinery Lubrication Analyst II. This will further enhance the opportunity on consultancy service on oil and wear debris analysis testing. In addition, he was also involved in consultancy projects on the area of vibration measurement for oil and gas company where it enhances his research activities through the income generation and industrial funding.
