Research Experience:
Research
is on microbial biotechnology focusing on the isolation, identification and
characterization of probiotic strains from breast fed and formulated infant
feces, optimizing of encapsulating matrices (natural biopolymer sources) for
probiotic encapsulation and emulsion using response surface methodology (RSM)
approach for pharmaceutical and food industries application, develop
medium for probiotic cultivation using
natural sources as prebiotic as well as study on the surface associated protein
of probiotic strains that assist in the attachment to the gastrointestinal cell
line. Mainly obtained sponsors from university internal grants (Research
Interest Fund Grant) and also from Ministry of High Educations (Fundamental
Research Grant Scheme (FRGS), Research Acculturation Collaborative Effort
(RACE) and Exploratory Research Grant Scheme (ERGS). Has been awarded a few
national innovation awards from 2007 till 2018. Has been published about 180
indexed papers, citation 291 and H index is 10.
