Research Experience:
Prof.
Yan’s research activity currently covers the application of biolectrochemical
system (BES) for pollutants removal, and the advanced treatment process for
heavy metal wastewater as well. Prof. Yan obtained his PhD (2003) under the
supervision of Prof. Jian Chen, member of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE),
and then worked as a Postdoc in the department of Applied Biology and Chemical
Technology (ABCT) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University supervised by Prof
Hoi-Fu Yu for one year, Prof. Yan returned to Jiangnan University working as assistant
professor (2004), associate professor (2005) and professor (2017). Also, Prof Yan
served as a reviewer for more than 20 domestic and abroad academic journals
such as Bioresouce Technology, Journal of Hazardous Materials, Biochemical Engineering
Journal, etc..
