Research Area:

Analytical and numeric-analytic methods for nonlinear differential equations


Research Experience:

He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Science in Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).

His research interests in mathematics include analytical and numeric-analytic methods for nonlinear equations, computational biology, complex analysis and analytical solutions for fluid flow problems. He also interested in the applicability of analytical and semi numeric-analytic methods for nonlinear equations.

Chowdhury and his co-workers were the first to develop the numeric-analytic multistage HPM. The algorithms of the methods have been developed using a computer algebra system. The algorithms have been tested on several nonlinear equations of physics and mathematics. Very recently, Chowdhury and his group members introduced a novel reliable technique for three analytical methods namely, the harmonic balance method (HBM), the rational harmonic balance method (RHBM) and the energy balance method (EBM) to solve nonlinear oscillatory problems. Some of his research results were published in the top 10 international journals. Apart from research, his other passion is teaching. He believes that research and teaching complement each other in the sense that one enriches the other. He has also been involved in student-related activities such as giving motivational talks and conducting workshops for the betterment of the students.

He is a member of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), US, the American Mathematical Society  (AMS), US, and a life member of the Bangladesh Mathematical Society (BMS). He has also served as organizing committee members in national and international conferences. Currently, he is serving as editor of Journal of Applied mathematics (JAM),Hindawi Publishing Corp.
